Welcome parents, to an overview of NMX Sports. This non-profit organization has been developed to help give your kids a fun and educational way to spend their free time with their friends. We have developed a relationship with the New Mexico Ski Areas, the City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Department and local retailers to provide a safe, structured and collective support system for our organization.
We will focus on utilizing our beautiful state and all of its splendor as a backdrop for our activities. Our activities will primarily include “extreme” outdoor recreational sports such as snowboarding, skiing, BMX, skateboarding and wakeboarding.
If your kids already participate in these extreme sports, we hope to enhance their experiences by structuring events and trips. If they have not participated in these sports but wish to, we will give them a safe environment in which to learn with their peers. If money is a problem for either you or your kids but they are interested in becoming involved, they go out and earn it. Kids can earn an adventure by helping in the community and earning credit to offset partial or full costs of our trips, sponsored by NMX sports. Visit the “Earn an Adventure” link for more information.
Concerning the trips, all trips will be chaperoned by trained adventure leaders who have all submitted criminal background checks before being eligable to participate. We will utilize the Boy Scouts of America and City of Albuquerque’s policies and procedures for transporting and caring for our members when we are in possession of your kids. The Adventure Leaders will be completely responsible for your kids at a proven ratio of 1 Adventure Leader per 7 kids. Please visit the “Who’s in Charge of the Kids” link on our website for more information about our chaperones.
Your kids can be eligible for all of our activities by signing up and becoming members of NMX Sports. For only a $24.95 annual membership fee, your kids will receive a bag full of goodies and the opportunity to get out and be active, all year long plus will receive a . If you wish to sign up now, please visit the “Membership Sign Up” link on this website. We will also be visiting many schools and making presentations throughout the community where they can get involved as well.
