Xtreme Camp is back, and NEW this year is kayaking!  A fun week out enjoying all the wilderness that New Mexico has to offer. 

This camp is co-ed, open to youth 11-17 years of age and runs Monday, June 8th through Friday, June 12th, 8am-5pm.

Cost is $250 per participant for the week.  Price includes all climbing, rappelling, caving, and kayaking gear.  Small snack provided daily, participants must pack their own lunch.


Tentative schedule is as follows:


Monday - Climbing and Rappelling at Conchas Wall in the Jemez Mountains.
Tuesday - Caving at Alabaster Cave in Zia Pueblo.
Wednesday - Hiking to TWA crash site in the western Sandia Mountains.
Thursday - Beginner's Kayaking at Sandia Lakes in Sandia Pueblo.
Friday - Level 2 Kayaking in the Rio Grande.

***Activities are subject to change according to weather and other conditions.

Are you looking for a part time job?  Looking to build those work skills and experience?


New Mexico Xtreme Sports Association, Inc. is looking to hire you for part time work to help improve our public parks.  NMX will be constructing a wall and shade structure at the City of Albuquerque Shooting Range Park on the west mesa.  The wall will also have a mosaic art element added to it, once it is constructed.


NMX will be hiring 12 youth to work complete this project.  Here are the details:


  • Youth must be 16-25 years of age.

  • Construction and art experience preferred, but not required.

  • Resume required. Portfolio required for artists.  Please include availability.

  • Must be unemployed for at least 2 weeks at start of project.

  • $9.00 per hour rate of pay.

  • 25 hours per week maximum.

  • Must be available Sunday through Wednesday, 8am-5pm.

  • Training provided.

  • Transportation provided from Warehouse 508 to Shooting Range and back.

  • Estimated project dates are May – November. (Work schedule will change during school year.)

Now accepting resumes through Friday, May 15th.  Job interviews will start the following week..  Job trainings and the project will start the last week of the May.

 2015 Scholarship Program

Our scholarship program supports local students by providing financial aid to assist them in their educational endeavors. There are three scholarships available in 2015 valued at $1,000 each. Each scholarship will be awarded to different applicants.

Scholarships

Students may apply for more than one scholarship, but can only be awarded one scholarship per year. To apply, students must plan to enroll in the fall of 2015, in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or trade/vocational school. Full-time undergraduate students already enrolled at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or trade/vocational school are also eligible. Students must agree to the use of their name and photograph being released for publication relating to this program. Employees, volunteers and immediate family members of employees at U.S. Eagle are not eligible to apply.

General scholarship Application Requirements:

  • Completed Application (see links to individual scholarships below)
  • Video, Photo Slideshow, or Essay
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • Parent/Guardian Release (If applicant is under the age of 18)
2015 Scholarships Vigil Bullying Prevention Scholarship: Anti-bullying scholarship intended for those who have persevered through oppressive situations or led an anti-bullying movement. 

Student Spotlight: Creatively provide fifteen reasons why you should receive this scholarship. 

Million Dollar Budget: Bam! You have One Million Dollars! Explain how you would use it!
